I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Accredited Supervisor with PACFA #24365
A supervisor is a practitioner with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience and supervision competencies satisfying the requirements of the PACFA Supervision Training Standards.
I am formally trained with a Masters of Counselling and in the modality of Somatic Experiencing (SE) therapy, created by Peter Levine. I am also registered on the Sydney Assistant Training team for SEP. Other Counselling Qualifications can be viewed on the about me section on this webpage www.pennywilkinsoncounsellor.com
For Clinical Supervision I prefer to use Janine Bernard’s Model.
This Model provides a 3 x 3 matrix lens to evaluate our work together.
This means there will be interventions provided similarly to a teaching role,
There will be support provided to assist you to conceptualise a client’s position &
There will be consultative approach to our sessions.
The theoretical framework through which I provide this model of supervision is informed by attachment theory and current neurobiological safety principles.
All this really means is I am aware of the courage it takes to be vulnerable in a learning space and I seek to honour that by creating a felt sense of safety for your growth as a professional in the counselling arena.
SUPERVISION SERVICE GUIDELINES:
I highly recommend that each supervisee has access to an individual therapist for themselves so that should any issues arise in supervision, you will have adequate support to continue working safely both in supervision and in therapy.
If you are a person in recovery from an addiction, I highly recommend participating in a 12-step community and ideally have a sponsor you can work with safely.
Individual Sessions are available in person or on zoom. Groups are available on zoom. Dates are agreed for each group. Group currently available Mondays 6.00 – 7.30pm Other groups arranged by mutual discussion - please make an enquiry.
Guidelines for working on zoom include screens on for the session, strong wifi, headphones used for confidentiality and availability for the whole session.
